Elaine Dakas; 82; formerly of Belle Vernon; passed away on Friday; June 20; 2008; at the Greensburg Care Center. In the midst of our sorrow; we take comfort in knowing that she is now in the company of the Lord and with her beloved husband of 56 years; Jack E. Dakas; who passed away on March 5; 2008. A daughter of the late Bartley and Yvonne Parmentier Wood; she was born in Belle Vernon on March 28; 1926. Elaine lived most of her adult life in Belle Vernon; and was an active and devoted member of the Marion Presbyterian Church. She was a homemaker; who took great pride in raising and caring for her family. Her loving nature and kindness will be sorely missed and always remembered by her friends and family. In addition to her parents and husband; she was preceded in death by brothers Edwin Wood; William Wood and Bartley Wood. Elaine is survived by one daughter and son-in- law; Debbie and Tony Sicari of Penn Township; two sons; Jack Dakas of Uniontown and Dr. Jeffrey Dakas of Erie; six grandchildren; Erika Kimmel and husband Dave of Uniontown; Dana Dakas of Uniontown; Brian Sicari; Chad Sicari; both of Penn Township; Erin Dakas and Nora Dakas; both of Erie; a great-grandson; Jace Kimmel; two brothers; Tom Wood and wife Jean of Rockville; Md.; Charles Wood and wife Becky of Greensburg; and a sister-in-law Janet Wood; (who was more like a sister) of San Diego; Calif.; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved and treasured.
