Obituary

Mary T. Barger, 99, of Lynnwood, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2013. A daughter of the late Paul and Katherine Maganetz Turtzer, she was born in Charleroi on Sept. 25, 1914. A member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church, she enjoyed playing cards at the Center on the Hill, and was an avid Steelers and Pirates fan. Survivors include four daughters, Paula (Bob) Beck of Tempe, Ariz., Mary Lois “Cis” (Joe) Way of Oil City, Nancy Gaydos of Daisytown and Joan (Tom) Nave of Oviedo, Fla., 11 grandchildren, Robert Beck, Julie Owen, Matt Beck, Renee Quijas, Tracey Way, Amy Adams, Mark Gaydos, Kristen Hedden, Deanne Petrucci, Patrick Nave and Courtney Hyer, and 24 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John K. “Jack” Barger on March 26, 2001, two sisters, Agnes Kendrick and Anna Diaz, three brothers, Paul, Peter and Joseph Turtzer, a great grandson, John Paul Gaydos, in infancy and a son-in-law, Paul Gaydos, in 2012. Friends will be received 2 to 4 P.M. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 724-929-5300, 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, http://www.FergusonFuneralHomeAndCrematory.com. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home at noon Wednesday followed by a funeral Mass in St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church at 12:30 p.m. with the Rev. Msgr. Roger A. Statnick as celebrant. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Amedisys Hospice, 100 Stoops Drive, Suite 300, Monongahela, PA 15063, or the charity of one’s choice.
