Obituary

Elizabeth Richie, 87, of Coal Center, formerly of Monessen, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2008, in Washington County Health Center. She was born Feb. 12, 1921, in Buffalo, N.Y., a daughter of the late Valentine and Alezebeta Oberlik Hanzlian. She worked as a waitress for Twin Coaches and Rego's for many years. Mrs. Richie was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Monessen, a former member of Firemen's Club No. 2, Eagles, Ravens and Hungarian clubs, all of Monessen. Mrs. Richie was a loving mother and grandmother. Surviving are a daughter, Diane and husband Joseph Frederick of Coal Center, son, William C. and wife Linda Dudeck of Charleroi, son Dana R. Dudeck and Debbie DiGiacomo of Monessen, grandson, Joseph F. and wife Janet Frederick of Coal Center, granddaughter, Dannielle L. and husband Hugh Tuffy Bennett Jr. of Eighty-Four, grandson, Gregory R. and wife Wendy Dudeck of Monessen, granddaughter, Melissa A. Dudeck of Monessen, granddaughter, Dannielle E. Dudeck of Monessen, grandson, Christopher A. and wife Annette Dudeck of Belle Vernon, grandson, Jeffrey M. and wife Lori Dudeck of Fayette City, granddaughter, Kimberly and husband Kenny Sines of Charleroi, grandson, John A. Dudeck of Charleroi, 11 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Richie, brothers, Valentine Hanzlian, John Hanzlian, Andrew Hanzlian, sister, Ann Matheis, and George Hanzlian, and by an infant son, Raymond. Friends will be received Sunday from 6 to 8 and Monday from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 at the RHOME FUNERAL HOME INC., 1209 Grand Boulevard, Monessen. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of the Rhome Funeral Home on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Monessen Public Library or to the Monessen School District libraries.
