Lewis J. Comer; 75; of Washington; formerly of Rostraver; died Wednesday; November 26; 2008 at home. Born in Smithton on January 10; 1933; he was the son of the late James and Beatrice (Lynn) Comer.
Mr. Comer was a truck driver for the former SuperValu grocery warehouse in Rostraver and retired in 1995. He was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Houston.
He is survived by his 3 sons; Lewis J. (Amy) Comer; Jr. of Washington;with whom he made his home; James A. Comer of Rostraver; and David A. (Becky) Comer of Belle Vernon; daughter; Beatrice Porter of New Kensington; 3 grandchildren; Chris Porter and Austin & Bayleigh Comer; mother-in-law; Yolan Turda of Rostraver; 7 sisters; Edith Steadman & Betty Lebe; both of Smithton; Evelyn Lynn of North Carolina; Helen Comer of Belle Vernon; Maxine Stahl & Madeline Fisher; both of Smithton; and Cheryl Hoffer of Acme; 2 uncles; Calvin Comer of Smithton and Samuel Comer of West Newton; and caregiver; Kathy Gross of Washington.
In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his wife; Yolan Dolly Comer in 2003.
Friends will be received on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc.; 580 Circle Drive; Belle Vernon/Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com where a Funeral service will be held on Saturday; November 29 at 11:00 am with the Rev. Kent Lighthall officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
