Obituary

Homer E. Smith, 65, of Webster (Rostraver Township), died Sunday, April 12, 2009, in Mon Valley Hospital. A son of the late William D. and Ethel Booth Smith, he was born in Purcell, Pa., on Feb. 16, 1944. Homer had resided in Webster since 1960 and was employed as a truck driver for Webster Auto Parts. Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, Darla and Rick Sturtz, of Fredericktown, Connie and Ron Babich, of Bentleyville, Vicki and Kevin Bennett, of Webster, and Rhonda and Thomas Toth, of Belle Vernon, one son and daughter-in- law, Rodney E. and Rebecca Smith, of Belle Vernon (Fellsburg), and nine grandchildren, Brandi and Mark Morgan, Brandon and Ashley Smith, Kane Tomcanin, Haley and Carley Bennett and Meagan and Aaron Toth. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Lunt Smith, on Aug. 12, 1999, and one sister, Ruth E. Miller. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY INC., 724-929-5300, 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, www.fergusonfuneralhomeandcrematory.com. Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 15, at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. William Bailey, pastor of the Monongahela Free Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
