Obituary

Stanley Kobosky, 91, of Belle Vernon (Fairhope), died Wednesday, July 9, 2008, in The Uniontown Hospital. He was born September 9, 1916, in Smithton, a son of the late Walter Kobosky and the late Mary Sleyzak Kobosky. He was retired from General Motors, Fisher Body plant. Mr. Kobosky was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Belle Vernon American Legion Post No. 659, the Fairhope Rod & Gun Club and Naomi AC Club. Surviving are three daughters, Pauline Tingey and Christine Page, both of London, and Bernadine Vivian, of Carlisle, brother, Carl Kobosky, of Oklahoma City, Okla., three sisters, Katie Olesko, of New Jersey, Alma McLaughlin, of Belle Vernon, and Sara Farkas, of Monessen, six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, and two special nieces, Judith Vollmar and Patricia Polacek, both of Belle Vernon. He was preceded in death by a son, Stanley Kobosky, brother, Walter Kobosky, and two sisters, Helen Vollmer and Anna Moyers. Friends will be received in the ELEY-McCRORY FUNERAL HOME INC., 334 Main St., Fayette City (724-326-5621), on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, July 12, until 10 a.m., when a blessing service will take place with the Rev. Leonard McAlpin officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Members of Belle Vernon American Legion Post No. 659 will conduct services on Friday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home. www.eleymccroryfuneralhome.com
