Berniece Burkett, 88, of North Belle Vernon, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2014, at home. A daughter of the late Adam and Mary Paruban Klawcho, she was born in Pricedale on June 9, 1926. Berniece was a lifelong resident of North Belle Vernon and a non-active member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Charleroi. Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Leon Burkett; a brother, Frank Klawcho of Belle Vernon; two nieces, Patty Testy of Belle Vernon and Kathy Allen of Ohio; and a nephew, Charles Jackowski of Belle Vernon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and six sisters. Per the family's wishes, there will be no public visitation.
