Obituary

Betty Jane Toth, 85, of Belle Vernon (Washington Township), left this great earth Wednesday, May 13, 2009, to join her parents, husband and daughter in eternity. A daughter of the late Francis Albert and Ethel Marie Gordon Dick, Betty was born Dec. 11, 1923, in Cumberland, Md. Mourning her death is her daughter, Barbara Toth Moskala, of Washington Township, granddaughter, Michelle Moskala, and great- grandson, Hunter Battistone, of North Belle Vernon, granddaughter, Gina Souleyret Poore, husband Darren, and great-grandchildren, Jared and Alyson, of Walton, Ky., granddaughter, Jaime Souleyret Creech, husband Chad, and great-grandchildren, Caitlyn and Caleb, of Walton, Ky., four sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law, Helen Toth, of Treasure Island, Fla., Joseph Toth, of Belle Vernon (Lynnwood), Cliff and Theresa Toth, of Lynnwood, Margie Toth Frosini, of Finleyville, and Dorothy Toth Pierce, of Fairbanks, Alaska, and many nieces and nephews. On Jan. 9, 1944, she married Melvin James Toth, who died May 23, 2007. In addition, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Toth Souleyret, on March 21, 1994, and a sister, Evelyn Beck. Besides her family, Betty's greatest passion was golfing. She was a long-time member of Mon Valley Country Club, where she participated with the Women's Golf Association. She also enjoyed knitting and swimming. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY INC., 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon (724-929-5300), www.fergusonfuneralhomeandcrematory.com. Funeral services will be in the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Wayne Boring officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
