J. Pat Dodaro; 83; of Monessen; died Saturday; July 11; 2009; in Monongahela Valley Hospital Inc.; Carroll Township. He was born in Monessen; April 4; 1926; the son of the late John and Teresa Altemare Dodaro. Pat was a lifelong resident of Monessen; a 1944 graduate of Monessen High School; a 1951 graduate of Penn State University; and a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church; its choir and Holy Name Society. He was an active person and a life member of Seven Springs Ski Patrol; Mon Valley Ski Club; Knights of Columbus Council 954; VFW Post 1190; Sons of Italy; and Speers Boat Club. He had worked in marketing and communications for Southwestern Pennsylvania Human Services (SPHS). Pat was a World War II veteran; having served with the Army Air Corps. Survivors include his two sisters; Jean Stark and Evelyn Kowell; both of Monessen; his nephew; Bob Stark and wife; Cathy; and niece; Paula Kowell; all of Monessen; great-nephews; Jonathan and Brandon Stark; and his lifelong companion; Hariett Kistler; of Bethel Park. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law; Paul Kowell and Robert Stark III. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC. AND CREMATION SERVICES; 441 Reed Ave.; Monessen; (724-684-8750). Services will be held Friday; beginning with a 9:30 a.m. blessing in the funeral home; followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
