Obituary

Gladys P. Halinka, 79, of Belle Vernon, died Sunday, April 6, 2008, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. A daughter of the late Earl C. and Harriett Elizabeth Jobes Stewart, she was born in Redstone Township on July 15, 1928. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Monessen and had been a lifelong resident of Belle Vernon. Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Lloyd E. and Patti Halinka, of Fallowfield Township, Jack and Sandy Halinka, of Belle Vernon, and James and Marcia Halinka, of Annapolis, Md., one sister, Goldie Dubinsky, of Monessen, one brother, Donald Stewart, of Rostraver Township, four grandchildren, Lori (Shawn) Wheatley, of Dunlevy, Jennifer Halinka, of California, and Stacey Mahn and Robert Mahn, both of Annapolis, Md., and three great-grandchildren, Matthew and Shane Wheatley and Carson Blair. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Halinka, in 1973, two brothers, James and Robert Stewart, and one sister, Edith Dubinsky. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., (724-929-5300), 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, www.FergusonFuneralHomeAndCrematory.com. Funeral services will be in the funeral home on Wednesday, April 9, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Jeffrey Anthony, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Belle Vernon, officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
