Donald E. Vernet; 76; of Monessen; died Wednesday; June 12; 2013; in Monongahela Valley Hospital. He was born in Monessen on Sept. 11; 1936; the son of the late Rudolph Vernet and Mary Louise Arnoldi Vernet. Don retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel in Monessen; having worked in the Coke Plant. He was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church. He is survived by his children; Donald E. (Brenda) Vernet Jr. of Carlisle; Brian (Tricia) Vernet of Bentleyville; Ronald (Margie) Yancoskie of Gardeners; Pa.; Tom Yancoskie of Carlisle; Ron Vernet of Shelby Township; Mich.; Kathy Vernet of Monessen; Lisa Simon of Carnegie; a brother; Rudy (Cheryl) Vernet of Monessen; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his wife; Joan E. (Badzik) Vernet; and a son; Gary Yancoskie. Friends will be received 6 to 8 pm. Thursday in the DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC. AND CREMATION SERVICES; 441 Reed Ave.; Monessen. Services will be held June 14; 2013; Friday; beginning with 9:30 a.m. blessing in the funeral home; followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord Church.
