Swanee B. Sopsic; 87; of Belle Vernon (Arnold City); died Friday; Sept. 5; 2008; in her residence. She was born May 16; 1921; in Mercer County; W.Va.; a daughter of the late Dorse Butler and the late Corine Lilly Butler. She was a member of the Fayette City Golden Agers and the Center on the Hill in Washington Township. Survivors include two daughters; Wilma Gaskill and Dutch Ann Kennedy; both of Belle Vernon; two sons; John Smoot; of Monongahela; and Harry Smoot; of Croydon; Pa.; one brother; Edd Davis; of Maryland; three sisters; Mable Fleece; of Zainesville; Ohio; Bonnie Stark; of Odenton; Md.; and Mary Morrison; of Rich Creek; Va.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; and a very special friend; Roy Hixenbaugh.
