Rose Marie Galaski, 95, of Monessen, Pa., died on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2025. She was born in Lat robe, Pa., on Sept. 22, 1929, and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Frances Walchok Grunwald. She was the wife of the late Steve Edward “Tepe” Galaski, who died on Feb. 7, 2006. Rose was a beautician for many years along with her sister, Helen. She was a wonderful cook, baker and an avid plant enthusiast. She was especially proud of her vegetable and rose gardens, as well as her many beautiful house plants. Rose is survived by her children, Stephen Nick (Sue Striffler) Galaski of White Oak, Pa., and John Thomas (Rose) Galaski of Wilkins Township, Pa.; grandchildren, Steve A. Galaski, John J. Galaski, Adam Striffler Galaski and Michael A. Galaski; great-granddaughter, Allison Galaski; siblings, Elizabeth (the late Frank) Peduti of Mariana, Pa., Frank J. Grunwald of Belle Vernon, Pa., and Margaret Ann (the late Gary Alan) Grant of Belle Vernon, Pa.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, Rose was preceded in death by her niece, Diane Brautigam; and siblings, Joseph Nick Grunwald, Theodore T. (the late Patricia Ann Rekrut) Grunwald, Helen G. (the late Ralph William, Jr.) Brautigam and Frances J. Grunwald. Family and friends will gather from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2025, at STRIFFLERS OF WHITE OAK CREMATION AND MORTUARY SERVICES INC., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177). On Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2025, all family and friends will meet at Epiphany of Our Lord Church, 44 Pennsylvania Blvd., Monessen, PA 15062, for a 10. a.m. Mass of Christian Burial officiated by her nephew, Father Douglas Peduti.
