Obituary

Joseph D. Rinehart, 92, of Altamonte Springs, Fla., passed away Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010, in his home. A son of the late Joseph R. and Jessie Dumire Rinehart, he was born in Cumberland, Md., on April 15, 1917. He was a founder of the Calvary Bible Church of Charleroi and enjoyed gardening and photography. Formerly of Rostraver Township, he had resided in Florida since 1982. Joe was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and retired in 1982 from the U.S. Steel Research Center in Monroeville, where he was a research analyst. Survivors include four daughters, Lorna Rinehart, with whom he made his home in Altamonte Springs, Pam Strubakis, Debra Cannon-Rinehart, and Sandra Rinehart, all of Apopka, Fla., and four grandchildren, Joanne Strubakis, David Ward, Laura Hubbard and Jessie Sutton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lenora L. Rinehart, on Sept. 19, 1999, and one sister, Doris Craun. Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 724-929-5300, 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, www.fergusonfuneralhomeandcrematory.com. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Calvary Bible Church, 990 Fourth St. Extension, North Charleroi, with the Rev. James Mimidis officiating. Interment will follow Belle Vernon Cemetery.
