Obituary

Charlotte M. Brown, 83, of Fayette City, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, April 2, 2021 in UPMC Mercy Hospital. A daughter of the late John S. and Dorethea Rudolph Lindey, she was born on November 29, 1937 in Fayette City. A lifelong resident of Fayette City, she was a member of the Fayette City Alliance Church. Survivors include a daughter and son in-law, Joni and Daniel Powell of Perryopolis; a son and daughter in-law, Russell and Wendy Brown of Fayette City; three grandchildren, Jennifer Denitti of Perryopolis, Leigh Ann Smith of Newell, and Jessica Anne Brown of Pittsburgh; and two great-grandchildren, Lucas Denitti and Charlotte Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell L. Brown in 2005 and two brothers, Louis Kenneth Lindey of Fayette City and John William Lindey of Delmont. Loved by family and friends, Charlotte was endeared to many she met through her work as a long-time cashier at Kroger supermarket, paramedic with Community Ambulance Service, staff in the office of House of Representatives member James Mandarino, running the Fayette City foodbank, Tax Collector for Fayette City borough, and various church ministries: teaching Sunday School and bible study classes, serving as deaconess, and many more. Her faith was strong, and she lived it throughout her life in both word and deed. We will miss her. A memorial service will be held at the Fayette City Alliance Church on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 2 P.M. with Pastor Christian Jacobs officiating.
