Obituary

Aldo Stagi, 89, of Philipsburg, formerly of Fallowfield Township, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007, in his home. A son of the late Charles and Kate Latinski Stagi, he was born in Belle Vernon on June 11, 1918. Aldo was a member and deacon of the First Christian Church of Fayette City and retired in 1983 from Corning Glass Works in Charleroi. A resident of Fallowfield Township for over 40 years, he and his wife moved to Philipsburg in September 2006. He also served during World War II with the U. S. Army. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Roberts Stagi, with whom he celebrated 63 years of marriage on Feb. 14, 2007, one son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Sue Stagi, of Philipsburg, two grandchildren, Patrick Stagi and Kate Young and husband, Wyatt, three great-grandchildren, Angel and Jacob Stagi and Maggie Sue Young, one brother-in-law, Joe Schneider, and one nephew, Bob Schneider, both of Belle Vernon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Stagi, and one brother, John Stagi, in infancy. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY INC. (724-929-5300), 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, www.fergusonfuneralhomeandcrematory.com. Funeral services will be in the funeral home on Friday, Nov. 2, at noon with the Rev. Wayne Boring officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
