Obituary

Keith Albert Moeller, 78, of Rostraver Township, formerly of Fallowfield Township, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007, in Monongahela Valley Hospital. He was employed as a civil engineer by People's Natural Gas Co. for 32 years before retiring from People's Gateway Two Division. Keith attended Carnegie Mellon University as a voice major and then transferred to the School of Civil Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh. He served in the Korean Conflict as a member of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Keith earned the Purple Heart for Valor at Heartbreak Ridge. Born in North Charleroi, Keith was a son of the late John and Anna Blasick Moeller and the beloved husband of the late Ruth Smith Moeller. He was a brother of the late John Jack Moeller and the late Kathryn Jean Moeller. Keith graduated from Charleroi High School with the Class of 1948. During high school he was a class officer, baritone soloist and a member of the chorus, the Hi-Y and the Fallowfield Township Grange. Keith worked at Pete Hutco's service station in Fallowfield Township during high school and, during college, was employed as a surveyor by the Charleroi McDonald Engineering Associates. Keith was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Charleroi, where he sang in the choir, served on Session, on the Board of Deacons and as treasurer. He was a member of the Charleroi Lions Club and, prior to his illness, was recently elected as president. Survivors include his beloved daughters, Paige Moeller, of Dormont, Kerry Timko and husband Bob, of Rostraver Township, with whom he made his home, his pride and joy, his grandsons, Robert Keith, Reid Alexander and Dylan Ray Timko, one sister, Mary Ann Moeller, of Rostraver Township, three sisters-in-law, Jean Dyky, of Monessen, Larue Moeller, of Willoughby, Ohio, and Freda Smith, of Charleroi, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 6, at 10:30 a.m. in the Presbyterian Church, Fifth Street and Lincoln Avenue, Charleroi, with Pastor Fran-Lane Lawrence officiating. The SCHROCK-HOGAN FUNERAL HOME and CREMATION SERVICES INC., 226 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi (724-483-2911), is in charge of the arrangements.
