Louis A. Sellaro; 88; of Belle Vernon (Washington Twp.); died Friday; August 31; 2007 at 10:22 am at his home.
Born March 5; 1919 in Belle Vernon; he was the son of the late Rosario and Saletta Bitonti Sellaro.
A lifelong resident of Washington Twp.; Mr. Sellaro was a member of St. Sebastian R.C. Church; Belle Vernon where he served as an usher for the Saturday evening mass for many years. He was a retired steelworker from Whg-Pgh Steel; Monessen Plant; member of the Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659; VFW Belle Vernon Post 699; the nite time McDonald’s coffee club in Rostraver Twp.; a veteran of World War II where he served in the US Army and the recipient of the Purple Heart.
He is survived by;
Daughter & son in law; Lois Ann & George Cowan of Perryopolis;
Son; James L Sellaro of Uniontown
Grandson; George L. Cowan of Perryopolis
3 Sisters & brother in law; Edith Lachowicz; Mary Klisowski and Theresa & Clifford Toth all of Belle Vernon
He is preceded in death by his first wife Alice C. Davis Sellaro April 1976 and his second wife Lorriane Martina Johns Sellaro March 2001 and 4 brothers; James; Joseph; John and Frank Sellaro.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 9-10:30 AM at the Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home; Family Owned and Operated; 626 Broad Avenue; Belle Vernon 724-929-6183 followed by Prayer Service at 10:30 am in the funeral home followed by funeral mass at 11:00 am at St. Sebastian R.C. Church with the Rev. Lawrence L. Manchas V.F. Pastor as celebrant.
