Obituary

Bernard Barney Mutich, 83, of Fayette City, passed away Friday, July 6, 2007, in Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Born in Fairhope, Oct. 10, 1923, he was the son of the late Richard and Tina Radish Mutich. Barney resided in Fayette City since 1957. He was a retired truck driver for the Fox Grocery Co., a World War II veteran and a lifetime member of American Legion Post #659 and American Veterans Post #699 in Belle Vernon. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Ravenna Sams Mutich, a daughter, Diane Maiolini and husband Jeff and granddaughter Paige, a daughter, Karen Edwards and husband Kirk, granddaughter, Rachel Joseph and husband Jamie, and great-granddaughter, Riley, and grandson, Matthew Edwards and wife Tara, a son, Mark Mutich, a brother, Louis, a sister-in-law, raised as a daughter, Vicki Sams Bantz and husband Linn, and many special nieces, nephews, family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Rebecca Mutich Toth, Anne Mutich and Millie Barron and husband Bernard, four brothers, Guy, Charles and wife Betty, Nick and wife Dolores, and Mickey and wife Dora Mutich. Friends will be received from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY INC. (724-929-5300), 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, www.fergusonfuneralhomeandcrematory.com. Services will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, July 10 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Robert Lubic officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Rev. Leonard McAlpin will hold a wake service at 6 p.m., followed by combined services by American Legion Post #659 and VFW Post #699 at 7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
