Obituary

A devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather, Michael Brudnak, 84, of Charleroi, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 4, 2007. He was born Dec. 22, 1922, in Charleroi, a son of the late John and Helen Sovich Brudnak. Michael was a member of Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church of Charleroi and a member of the Charleroi Russian Club. He served with the 879th Bombardment Squadron of the Army Air Force during World War II. Michael retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Allenport plant after 40 years of service as a crane man in the coal draw department. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Lois Theys Brudnak, one daughter, Lois (Sean) MacDonald, of Charleroi, one son, Michael Brudnak and companion Carol Stark, of Monessen, four grandchildren, Kelli Brudnak, Brett May, Bryan (Sandra) May and Lisa (Rick) Hartley, three great-grandchildren, Carley Hartley, and Zach and Alex May, a great-grand puppy, Rex Hartley, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Keyock, Anna Franty and Mary Tawpash, two brothers, John Brudnak and Frank Brudnik, a daughter, Claudia May, and a great- grandchild, Braden Michael Hartley. Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the ED MELENYZER FUNERAL HOMES INC., 825 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 7, at 9 a.m. in the funeral home and 10 a.m. in Holy Trinity Church with the Rev. Gregory Peterson officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: Albert Gallatin Hospice, 20 Highland Park Drive, Suite 302, Uniontown, Pa. 15401.
