Lloyd R. Amprim; 80; of North Belle Vernon; died Sunday; May 13; 2007; in his home. A son of the late John and Ida Fontanelli Amprim; he was born on March 16; 1927. He was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church; the American Legion Post 659; the B.P.O.E. Lodge 773 of Monessen; the Penn State Alumni Association and the National Management Association. A resident of North Belle Vernon for the past 54 years; Lloyd retired in March 1989 from the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Co.; where he was a general foreman. He served aboard the USS Wachapreaque in the Pacific during World War II. Lloyd played baseball; football and basketball for Monessen High School and Penn State University; and he coached midget league for many years. A devoted family man; Lloyd was a loving husband; father and grandfather. His family was most important in his life; and he will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his wife of 54 years; Nell Klisowski Amprim; three daughters and two sons-in-law; Jeanine and Robert Gregory and Kimberly and James Zuchowski; all of Washington Heights; and Patrice Amprim; of North Belle Vernon; two brothers and one sister-in-law; Richard Amprim and John and Shirley Amprim; all of Monessen; and three grandchildren; Ian and Lauren Gregory and Taylor Zuchowski. A blessing service will be in the funeral home on Thursday; May 17 at 11 a.m.; followed by a Mass in St. Sebastian R.C. Church at 11:30 a.m. with the Rev. Lawrence Manchas; VF as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Wednesday at 3 p.m. led by members of St. Sebastian Parish; and the American Legion Post 659 will hold services at 7 p.m.
