Carol Lorrain Hixenbaugh Hewitt; 69; of Belle Vernon (Fairhope); died Friday; Feb. 16; 2007. She was born Dec. 28; 1937; in Pricedale; the daughter of the late Herman and Alverta Hixenbaugh. She was preceded in death by a son; Jeffrey L. Hewitt; in August 1990; grandchildren; Lea Marie Hewitt and Thomas Francis Hewitt Jr.; and sister; Jean Schook. Carol was a loving wife; mother; and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She had a deep love and devotion for the Lord; which she passionately shared with others. She was an avid gardener and loved to entertain family and friends on her gazebo. Carol had many talents and hobbies; which included cake decorating; growing and arranging dried flowers; and collecting dolls that she displayed throughout her home. Carol is survived by her husband; Charles H. Hewitt; with whom she celebrated 50 years of marriage on Sept. 1; 2006; four sons and daughters-in-law; Charles H. III and Vicky Hewitt; of Gates; N.C.; Roy H. Hewitt and Lynette Messier; of Woodbridge; Va.; Lee O. and RoseMarie Hewitt; of Newell; and Thomas F. and Theresa Hewitt; of Monessen; and 10 grandchildren; Reuben; Raina; Raquel; Amanda; Adam; Jacqueline; Roland; Chadwick; Dominique and Sara. She is also survived by two brothers; Roy Hixenbaugh; of Belle Vernon; and Lee Hixenbaugh and wife Ella; of Belle Vernon; two aunts; Mary Ann Krueter and Betty Adams; both of Belle Vernon; and many nieces; nephews and cousins.
