Obituary

Clyde A. Ray, 79, of Belle Vernon, died Friday, March 23, 2007, at Shady Rest Personal Care, Charleroi. He was born July 21, 1927, in McDonald to the late Thomas and Bertha Astle Ray and also was predeceased by several brothers and sisters. Mr. Ray was a resident of Belle Vernon for the past 56 years, Protestant by faith, a retired autoworker for Fisher Body, Pittsburgh, and a World War II Navy veteran. Surviving are his wife, Genevieve Hays Ray, to whom he was married 58 years, son, Clyde Jeffrey Ray, of Belle Vernon, daughters and son-in-law, Debbie and Dr. Paul T. Cullen, of McMurray, Janis Ray, of Belle Vernon, and Dr. Christine Ray, of Erie, sisters, Thelma Cardillo, of Oakdale, and Vivian Grillo, of Bridgeville, grandchildren, Jody, Megan, Patrick, Abby and Sean, and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME, family-owned and -operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183, where services will be at 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev. David Zona, of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Condolences accepted for the family at the funeral home's Web site.
