Funeral services were held this morning for Doris L. Yates Gibson; 84; of Monessen; who died Monday; March 5; 2007; in Thorpe’s Personal Care Home; North Charleroi. She was born Oct. 1; 1922; in Monessen; a daughter of the late Ralph and Ann Overand Yates. Mrs. Gibson was a member of the United Methodist Church of Monessen; where she had served as a Sunday school teacher for many years. She is survived by her children: son; Robert W. Gibson and wife Nora; of Belle Vernon; daughter; Mrs. Dave (Jane) Altemara; of Monessen; and son; Mark Gibson and wife Colleen; of Monessen; four grandchildren; Joe Altemara; Kara Gibson; Ali Gibson and Marc Gibson. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband; Robert Gibson. Memorial contributions in Mrs. Gibson’s name may be made to the United Methodist Church of Monessen.
