Obituary

Anna Mae Jewell Harn, 85, of Washington, Pa., formerly of Belle Vernon, died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2007, at 12:50 p.m. in Kade Nursing Home, Washington. Born May 11, 1921, in Speers, she was the daughter of the late James C. Sr. and Elsie Sowatzki Jewell. Mrs. Harn was a resident of Washington for the past four years, having previously resided in Belle Vernon. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon, where she was a Deacon, Vacation Bible School director, Sunday school teacher and member of the Presbyterian Women and a Circle leader. She was a 1936 graduate of Clairton High School, member of the former Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659 Ladies Auxiliary, former member of VFW Post 5454 Ladies Auxiliary, a former member of Christian Endeavor, Bowling Stones and a Girl Scout leader. She was also a retired sales clerk from the Hallmark Card Shop, Rostraver Township. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Elsie and Dale Williams, of Harrisburg, two sons, Thomas Charles Harsha, of Glassport, and John Richard Harsha, of Ocoee, Fla., a stepson, Clifford Eugene Harn and wife Kitty, of Halifax, 11 grandchildren, Bob Williams, Lorraine Strick, Michele Smeal, Kimberly Myers, Marjorie Harsha, Rick Harsha, Mark Harsha, Mike Harsha, Pat Harsha, Eugene Harn and Charles Harn, and three great-grandchildren, Chloe Smeal and MacKenzii and Riley Harn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford E. Harn, on Nov. 19, 1983, and a brother, James C. Jewell Jr. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon (724-929-6183). Services will be held Monday, Feb. 19, at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Suzanne Currie of First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon officiating. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
