Paul G. Colas; 84; of Monessen; died Thursday; Dec. 14; 2006 in Jefferson Hills Manor. He was born April 24; 1922 in Monessen; son of the late Mark Colas and Laura Pappart Colas. He was a life member of Monessen Volunteer Fire Department No 1. Mr. Colas was a founding member of the Monessen Ambulance Service; which is now Mon Valley EMS. He had also served as a campground host at Kooser State Park and enjoyed camping; traveling and fishing. Mr. Colas was a veteran of World War II. He was an employee of U.S. Steel; Irving Works prior to his retirement. Surviving are two sons; Kevin Colas; of Monessen; and David Colas and companion Shirley; of West Pittsburgh; a brother; Art; of the state of California; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his wife; Ellanor Zadrozny Colas; a sister-in-law; Ilda Greenwood and a brother Leon Colas. Friends will be received Saturday; Dec. 16 at the RHOME FUNERAL HOME INC.; 1209 Grand Blvd.; Monessen; a Golden Rule Funeral Home; from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.; the time of services in the funeral home chapel.
