John A. Stura; 78; of North Belle Vernon; died Monday; Oct. 16; 2006; in Mon Valley Hospital. He was born Nov. 3; 1927; in Clairton; a son of the late Alexander and Dena Dolfi Stura. John had been employed by Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel; Gibson Yard; Monessen; prior to his retirement. He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church; a life member of the North Belle Vernon Fire Department; and a member of the American Legion and the East Belle Vernon Athletic Club; all of Belle Vernon; and the Naomi Athletic Club in Fayette City. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his brother; George Stura. Survivors include his wife; Gloria M. Hyzy Stura; a daughter; Lorene Henry; of Belle Vernon; grandchildren; Lisa Smith and husband Matthew; Gary Henry Jr.; and John Henry and wife Samantha; great-grandchildren; Kelsey; Brendon and Brayton; two sisters and brothers-in-law; Nancy Rizzuto and husband Frank Bucky; of Monessen; and Norma Wolf and husband William; of Lawton; Okla.; two sisters-in-law; Louise Stura; of Belle Vernon; and Josephine Wilson; of Sutersville; and many nieces; nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews. Church; Belle Vernon. The parish rosary will be recited Wednesday at 3 p.m.; and services will be conducted by the North Belle Vernon Fire Department at 7:15 p.m. and by the American Legion at 8 p.m.; all in the funeral home.
