Obituary

Harry Mavrikas, 80, of Sarasota, Fla., passed away Saturday, Sept. 23, 2006. He was born April 15, 1926, in Fayette City and moved to Sarasota 15 years ago from Belle Vernon. Mr. Mavrikas was a retired steelworker, having worked for the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 484 in Fayette City and a United States Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors include his daughter, Cynthia Mavrikas, of Sarasota, four sons, Harry W. Mavrikas, of Bradenton, Fla., Tommy J. Mavrikas, of Belle Vernon, and Richard A. and Nicky J. Mavrikas, both of Sarasota, nine grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, Sept. 28 at 7 p.m. at the JENNINGS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 5750 Swift Road, Sarasota, Fla. 34231 (941-926-2223).
