Donald E. Young; 70; of Fayette City; died Monday; Aug. 14; 2006; in his residence. He was born Nov. 10; 1935; in Fayette City; a son of the late John Gilbert and Jane E. Jean Kern Young. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Fairhope Rod & Gun Club. Mr. Young was an avid baseball player with the St. Louis Cardinals organization and enjoyed coaching fundamental baseball to area youths. Surviving is his wife; Janice Coldren Young; two sons; Michael Young; of Fayette City; and Donald Young Jr.; of Biloxi; Miss.; a daughter; Brenda Bennett and husband Frank; of Arnold City; one sister; Luann Russell and husband James; of Rostraver Township; seven grandchildren; Michael; Christopher; Kaitlyn; Samuel and Joshua Young; and Jesse and Mackenzie Bennett; six step-children; three nephews; Jimmy Russell and wife Stephanie; Ryan Russell and wife Tracey; and Nolan Russell; and one niece; Magan Russell. Friends will be received in the ELEY- McCRORY FUNERAL HOME INC.; on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.; Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.; and Thursday; Aug. 17; until 11 a.m.; the hour of service with the Rev. Michael Shepard officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
