Celestine K. Chel Lavery; 98; of Belle Vernon died Friday; July 14; 2006 in Jefferson Hills Manor. A daughter of the late George and Clara Salvino Nucci; she was born in Weirton; WV on August 2; 1907. A resident of Belle Vernon since 1940; she was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church. Chel retired in 1970 after 38 years with the former Vernon Drug Store of Belle Vernon. Survivors include 1 daughter and son-in-law; Lorees and Max Sherman of Warsaw; IN; 3 grandchildren; James Sidary of Monongahela; Laurie Marraccini of McKeesport and Kathleen Couvillion of Dallas; TX and 4 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband; James Lavery in 1934; 3 brothers; Lewis; George and Fred Nucci and 2 sisters; Edith Hall and Verci Pettko. A blessing service will be in the funeral home on Monday at 9:30 A.M. followed by a funeral mass at 10 A.M. in St. Sebastian R.C. Church. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Sunday at 3 P.M. led by members of St. Sebastian Parish.
