Obituary

John W. Lynn 83, of Monongahela (Fallowfield Township), died Monday, May 8, 2006, in Excela Health-Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. He was born Dec. 28, 1922, in Fairhope, a son of Hamilton and Rose Wetzel Lynn. In his younger years, Mr. Lynn delivered DanDee's Potato Chips, was a bartender and a former member of the Fairhope Rod and Gun Club. He was an agent for Inter Ocean Life Insurance Company, working mostly in McKeesport. Mr. Lynn was employed by US Steel, Donora Works and Christy Park and retired from Consolidated Coal, Mathies Mine with over 15 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II. His memberships included the First United Methodist Church and Sutman-Yohe VFW Post 1409 in Monongahela and American Legion Post 659 in Belle Vernon. Mr. Lynn enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Lois Anderson Lynn, a son, David B. Lynn, of New Stanton, two step sons, Earl Bugaile, of Washington, and Eric Bugaile, of Harrisburg, a step daughter, Carol Wells, of Pittsburgh, five grandchildren, five step grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, and a sister, Margaret Hollis, of Belle Vernon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth Gimmon Lynn, on Oct. 16, 1981, a son, Robert J. Lynn, on Aug. 10, 2004, two brothers, George and Hamilton Lynn, and a sister, Florabelle McGavitt. Friends will be received Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the L.M. FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 West Main St., Monongahela, where services will be held Thursday, May 11, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Michael Milinovich officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
