Obituary

Irene Hoffman Ferencz, 86, of Belle Vernon (Rostraver Township), died Thursday, April 20, 2006, at 12:29 p.m. in UPMC-Shadyside, Pittsburgh. Born Jan. 17, 1920, in Rostraver Township, she was the daughter of the late John and Julia Kovach Hoffman. A lifelong resident of Rostraver Township, Mrs. Ferencz was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church in Belle Vernon and the Legion of Mary. She was a homemaker, served as a past president of AARP, treasurer of the Belle Vernon Golden Age Assembly, was a member of the former Ladies Auxiliary of Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659, and she served as Judge of Elections in Pricedale. She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Dennis Ferencz and Robert and Helen Ferencz, both of Belle Vernon, a daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Joseph Milosevich, of Hampton, Va., six grandchildren, Robert and Shannon Ferencz, Valerie and Craig Bonde, Joseph Milosevich, Susan and John Young, Bill Ferencz and Tom Ferencz, three great-grandchildren, Olivia Nicole Bonde, Aiden Bonde and Joseph Conner Young, and a sister, Julia Hogue, of Crescent. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph P. Ferencz, on May 27, 1993, three brothers, John, Stephen and Joseph Hoffman, and two sisters, Elizabeth Pritchau and Mary Hoffman. Visitation will be held Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon (724-929- 6183). A Prayer Service will be held Monday, April 24 at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Sebastian R.C. Church with the Rev. Lawrence L. Manchas V.F., pastor, as celebrant. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Members of St. Sebastian Parish will pray the rosary for the departed soul of Irene Ferencz on Sunday at 3 p.m. in the funeral home.
