Obituary

Dorothy J. Sterner, 82, of N. Belle Vernon, died Tuesday, April 18, 2006, in her home. A daughter of the late Clarence and Gertrude Lloyd, she was born in Mars, Pa., on Sept. 10, 1923. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon and had volunteered for the Meals on Wheels program and at Mon Valley Hospital. Mrs. Sterner had resided in Belle Vernon for the past 60 years. She was an active member of the Center on the Hill. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Roy E. Jr. and Barbara Sterner, of Carnegie, one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and James Kostelac, of Marietta, Ohio, three grandchildren, Keith Kostelac and wife Andrea, of Marietta, Bryan Kostelac and wife Amber, of Camby, Ind., and Autumn Sterner, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and four great-grandchildren, Kade, Nathan, Meghan and Gavan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Sterner Sr., on Feb. 22, 2000, two brothers, Clarence and Donald Lloyd, and one sister, Betty McClelland. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC. and CREMATION SERVICE, www.fergusonfuneralhome.net, a Golden Rule Member Firm, (724-929-5300), 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon. Funeral services will be on Saturday, April 22, at 11 a.m. in the First Presbyterian Church of Belle Vernon with the Rev. Richard Klein officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
