John David Jay Torok; 48; of Clarksville; formerly of Monessen; died Wednesday; March 1; 2006 at his residence. He was born in Pittsburgh on Dec. 21; 1957; the son of Joan Cook Torok; who survives and resides in Monessen; and the late John Torok; who died Feb. 13; 2005. Jay grew up in Monessen and attended Monessen schools before joining the U.S. Navy; serving one tour of peacetime duty. He worked at the former Page Aluminized Steel Company in Monessen for 10 years and later worked as an auto body repair technician for various auto body repair shops throughout the Mon Valley. Jay was an avid outdoorsman; having loved to hunt; trap and fish. He is survived by his wife of 16 years; Debi Timms Torok; a son; Johnathan Robert Torok and wife Diane; of Allison; a step son; James W. Wright Jr. and wife April; of Bentleyville; a sister; Kristy Torok Chavez and husband Hank; of Belle Vernon; two step grandsons; James Michael and Isaiah Jordan Wright; and a niece; Kaylene Michele Chavez. In addition to his father; he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents; Melvin and Mary Katherine Cook; his paternal grandparents; Joseph and Margaret Walanski; one aunt; Mary Holzapfel; on Feb. 18; 2005; and one cousin; Kimberly Cook. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the DALFONSO-BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC.; 441 Reed Ave.; Monessen (724-684-8750). Services will be held Saturday; March 4 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. David J. Nazimek officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
