Christine Babich; 83; of Perryopolis; went to her eternal rest with her loving family by her side on Saturday; Feb. 25; 2006 at the home of her daughter. She was born Oct. 10; 1922 in Centerville; a daughter of the late Andrew and Helen Dohanich Roman. Mrs. Babich was a member of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church in Belle Vernon and the church choir. She is survived by her son and daughter; Frank Babich Jr. and wife Mary; and Jeanne Rathway and husband Richard; all of Perryopolis; a brother; John Roman; of Brownsville; a sister; Mary Sesco and husband John; of Centerville; five grandchildren; Matthew Babich; Ted Babich Sr.; Christine Gibson; Larissa Rathway and David Rathway; eight great-grandchildren; Ted Babich Jr.; Brittany; Justine and Johna Gibson; Jacob and Nicholas Sweitzer; and Abby and Andrew Rathway. She was preceded in death by her husband; Frank Babich; in 1984; and a brother; Charles Roman. Friends will be received in the ELEY-McCRORY FUNERAL HOME INC.; 334 Main St.; Fayette City; on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Divine Liturgy will take place Wednesday; March 1 at 11 a.m. in Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church with the Rev. Fr. John Kluchko as celebrant. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. A Parastas service will be held Tuesday at 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
