Obituary

Lorna M. Garber, 78, of North Belle Vernon, died Friday, Feb. 17, 2006, in Mon Valley Hospital. A daughter of the late John and Emma Stevenson Cadman, she was born in Belle Vernon on Oct. 21, 1927. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Belle Vernon and the former Tuesday Evening Civic Club. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, she retired from Corning Glass in the mid 1960's after 15 years of service. Survivors include her husband, William Garber Sr., with whom she celebrated 60 years of marriage on Nov. 8, 2005, two sons, John Garber and wife Lisa, of Belle Vernon, and William Garber Jr. and fiancee Jane Engel, of Carroll Township, two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Robert Berish, of Belle Vernon, and Sheryl and Steve Chachula, of Bridgeville, nine grandchildren, Brett Berish and wife Mary Lou, Tina Berish and fiance Sam Colella, Denise Dilts, Mark Chachula and wife Robyn, Nicole Baselj and husband John, Shelley Tebo, Steve Chachula and wife Lisa, Eric Garber and Joshua William Garber, and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Franklin Cadman. Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC. and CREMATION SERVICE, a Golden Rule Member Firm, www.fergusonfuneralhome.net, 724-929-5300, 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, where funeral services will be held on Monday, Feb. 20, at noon with the Rev. Donald Bowers officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
