Goldie E. (Thomas) Povrzanich; 89; of Belle Vernon; died Thursday; Feb. 9; 2006; at 7 a.m. in Cherry Tree Nursing Center; Uniontown. Born Jan. 6; 1917; in Gillispie; she was the daughter of the late Mike and Barbara Ban Thomas. A resident of Belle Vernon for the past 60 years; Mrs. Povrzanich was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church; Belle Vernon; and a homemaker. She is survived by a son; Peter P. Povrzanich; of Belle Vernon; two grandchildren; Nadine Gantner and Gregory Povrzanich; and four great-grandchildren; Michelle Nelson; and Thomas; Mary and Michael Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband; Michael Povrzanich; in 1989; and a son; George E. Povrzanich; in 1998. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME; family owned and operated; 626 Broad Ave.; Belle Vernon (724-929-6183). A Prayer Service will be held Monday; Feb. 13; at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home; followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Sebastian R.C. Church with the Rev. Charles P. Esposito; parochial vicar; as celebrant. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Members of St. Sebastian parish will pray the rosary for the departed soul of Goldie Povrzanich on Sunday at 3 p.m. in the funeral home.
