Obituary

Steve E. Tepe Galaski, 86, of Monessen, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2006. Born Jan. 2, 1920, in Monessen, he was a son of the late Stanley and Bessie Roginski Galaski. A baker for the former Famous Bakery in Monessen, Mr. Galaski was retired from USX Irvin Works. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving aboard the USS New Jersey in the South Pacific. Mr. Galaski was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church in Monessen, the American Legion in Fayette City, and the Polish National Alliance in Monessen. Survivors include his wife, Rose Grunwald Galaski, two sons, John T. (Rose) Galaski, of Wilkins Township, and Stephen N. (Sue Striffler) Galaski, of White Oak, four grandsons, Steve A., John, Michael and Adam Galaski. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Helen Mello, Henrietta Cappiello, John, Matthew, Chester, Zigmund, Edward and Theodore Galaski. Friends will be received Wednesday from 5 to 9 p.m. in STRIFFLERS of WHITE OAK CREMATION and MORTUARY SERVICES INC., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, followed by visitation at the RHOME FUNERAL HOME INC., 1209 Grand Blvd., Monessen, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 10, in Epiphany of Our Lord R.C.
