Inez V. Mays; 74; of Monessen; went home to be with the Lord on Saturday; Jan. 21; 2006. Born Aug. 1; 1931; she was a daughter of the late Willie and Callie Mays of Blysthedale; Ark. Inez lived in the Bronx; N.Y.; for many years before moving back to Monessen in 1994. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Monessen. She leaves to cherish her memory two sons; James Sharpie Mays; of Monessen; and Wayne Mays and wife Mary; of the Bronx; N.Y.; three brothers; Oliver Puddin Mays and wife Carol; of Monessen; Ollie Clay Mays; of the state of California; and James Earl Mays; of Osceola; Ark.; one sister; Anna Ruth Johnson; of the Bronx; N.Y.; four grandchildren; Sequoia Mays; of Pittsburgh; James Mays; of Donora; Kimberly and Kellie Mays; of the Bronx; N.Y.; five great-grandchildren; several nieces; nephews; cousins; and a host of other relatives and friends; and a devoted; former sister-in-law; Bonnie Mays; of Monessen. In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers. Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in Union Baptist Church; 670 McMahon Ave.; Monessen. Additional viewing will be held in the church on Thursday; Jan. 26; from 10 to 11 a.m.; followed by a funeral service with the Rev. Ricardo Hall officiating.
