Obituary

Jean Volpi, 77, formerly of North Belle Vernon, died Monday, Jan. 16, 2006, in Coral Springs, Fla. A daughter of the late Patsy and Esther Rocco Amatangelo, she was born in Donora on May 24, 1928. Mrs. Volpi spent most of her adult life in North Belle Vernon and was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Greg Storch, of Parkland, Fla., three sons and daughters-in-law, Leonard J. and Kathy Volpi, of Charleroi, Richard J. and Kristine Volpi, of Cooper City, Fla., and Dr. David O. Volpi and Deborah Pilla, of Bronxville, N.Y., two sisters, Amelia Caruso, of Cleveland, Ohio, and Rosalie Debowski, of Donora, one brother, Gerald Amatangelo, of Florida, and eight grandchildren, Natalie Mainiero, Nicole Bartolowits, Kristen Volpi, Richie Volpi Jr., Michael Volpi, Alex Volpi, Max Volpi and Matthew Storch. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Orlando D. Volpi, on Dec. 31, 1993, one brother and four sisters, Edith Dutko, Ray Amatangelo, Angie Tosi, Ann Velicky and Mildred Marra. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC. and CREMATION SERVICE, www.fergusonfuneralhome.net, (724-929-5300), a Golden Rule Member Firm, 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, where a Blessing service will be held Saturday, Jan. 21, at 9 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Sebastian R.C. Church at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Friday at 3 p.m., led by members of St. Sebastian Parish.
