Obituary

Julia Duda Howsky, 93, of Belle Vernon (Fairhope), the last surviving member of her family, died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2006, in Thorpe's Personal Care Home, North Charleroi. She was born Nov. 17, 1912, in Washington Township, Fayette County, a daughter of the late Peter and Mary Kosiba Duda. She was a member of Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church, Fayette City, and a former member of the Christian Mothers of Holy Spirit, PNA Lodge 976 in Arnold City and the Fayette City and Belle Vernon Golden Agers. Surviving are two daughters, Dolores Frazier and husband Fritz, and Loretta Bunny Mullen, all of Belle Vernon, five grandchildren, Debora and Curtis House, Gina and Gregg Popelas, Dana and Frank Ruscitti, Tina Darkanglo and Julie Schuler, and four great-grandchildren, Heather Workman, Gregory Popelas, Ryan Ruscitti and Mathew Schuler. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter (Kwiatkowski) Howsky, one sister, Irene Baker, four brothers, Frank, George, Edmund Rex , and Carl Duda, and three infant brothers. Friends will be received in the ELEY-McCRORY FUNERAL HOME INC., 334 Main St., Fayette City, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Wednesday, Jan. 18, until 9:30 a.m., when a blessing service will take place followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Holy Spirit R.C. Church with the Rev. Father Lawrence Manchas as celebrant. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
