Eleanor Fundy Mancuso; 85; of Belle Vernon (Washington Township); passed away peacefully on Monday; Dec. 19; 2005; after a lifetime of devotion to her family. Born Nov. 23; 1920; in Monessen; she was a daughter of the late John and Assunta Santora Fundy. A homemaker; Mrs. Mancuso was a resident of Belle Vernon for the past 60 years and a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church; Belle Vernon. She was the first crossing guard in North Belle Vernon at Interstate 70 and worked in Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel; Monessen plant while her husband served in Europe. Mrs. Mancuso was a former Community Ambulance Service volunteer. She was a member of the Anita Garibaldi Society of Belle Vernon; the former Ladies Guild of St. Sebastian Church; the Fayette City Golden Agers; and she loved to garden and was an accomplished seamstress. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in- law; Sue Ann and Ronald Edwards and Bonnie and Donald Halinka; all of Belle Vernon; a son; Vince Mancuso Jr.; of Winterville; N.C.; two brothers and a sister-in-law; Attilio Fundy; of Calistoga; Calif.; and Fred and Betty Fundy; of Belle Vernon; two sisters and a brother-in-law; Loretta and Mike Hadjantoni; of Warren; Mich.; and Mary Praskavich; of Belle Vernon; five grandchildren; Ronald Edwards Jr.; Kristen Edwards Brown; Michael Vincent Mancuso; Julie Anne Mancuso; and Donnie Halinka; and three great-grandchildren; Anthony; Nicholas and Vincent Brown. She was preceded in death by her husband; Vincent C. Mancuso; on July 24; 1985; a sister; Delilah Steeple; and a brother; Frank Fundy. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME INC.; family owned and operated; 626 Broad Ave.; Belle Vernon (724-929-6183). A Prayer Service will be held Friday; Dec. 23; at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass in St. Sebastian R.C. Church. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Members of St. Sebastian Parish will pray the rosary for the departed soul of Eleanor Mancuso on Thursday at 3 p.m.; and the North Belle Vernon Fire Department will conduct services Thursday at 7 p.m.; both in the funeral home.
