Roy F. Evans; 85; of North Belle Vernon; died Tuesday; Dec. 13; 2005; in the Victoria House; Monessen. A son of the late Albert and Edna Costella Evans; he was born in Belle Vernon on Feb. 25; 1920. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon; Mr. Evans was a life member of the Fraternal Order of Police and the Belle Vernon Moose. Roy was an avid bowler and a police officer for Belle Vernon Borough in the early 1940’s. He retired from the Uniontown Foodland; where he was the meat department manager. Mr. Evans was inducted into the Belle Vernon Area Football Hall of Fame in 2003 and was a sergeant in the U.S. Marines Corps during World War II. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law; Maureen and John Koslik; of Belle Vernon; a son and daughter-in-law; Thomas E. and Roberta S. Evans; of Michigan; two sisters; Ruth Macknew; of Hagerstown; Md.; and Grayce Barley; of York; a brother; Richard Evans; of Belle Vernon; and three grandchildren; Collin; Nolan and Brendan Evans. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his wife; Mary Amelia Bilitski Evans; on Jan. 1; 2005; and two brothers; Fred and Raymond Evans. Friends will be received Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC. and CREMATION SERVICE; www.fergusonfuneralhome.net; a Golden Rule Member Firm; 724-929-5300; 700 Broad Ave.; Belle Vernon.
