Obituary

Edith K. Peterson, 63, of Belle Vernon, died unexpectedly in Mon Valley Hospital on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2005. A daughter of the late Heinrich and Maria Kroehn, she was born in Setzlav, Czechoslovakia, on Jan. 20, 1942. A resident of Belle Vernon for 26 years, she was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church. Edith had been employed at the former Fox Grocery Company and Wetterau and was currently employed as an EKG technician at Mon Valley Hospital where she worked for the past eight years. Survivors include three daughters and a son-in-law, Christine and Jeffrey Keffer, of Perryopolis, Sharon Peterson, of Tampa, Fla., and Heidi Peterson, of Belle Vernon, four brothers, Franz, Heinrich, Radulf and Arno Kroehn, all of Germany, three sisters, Inge Ward, of Belle Vernon, Ute Gulich, of Germany, and Marianne Brennan of Yonkers, N.Y., three grandchildren, Joshua, Juliann and Jonathan Keffer, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by twin sisters in infancy, and two nephews, Jesse and Keith Ward. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC. and CREMATION SERVICE, (724-929-5300), 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon. A blessing service will be in the funeral home on Friday at 9 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Sebastian R.C. Church with the Rev. Lawrence Manchas, VF as celebrant. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The rosary will be prayed in the funeral home on Thursday at 3 p.m., led by members of St. Sebastian Parish.
