Obituary

Michael Sveda Jr., 77, of Fayette City (Gillespie), entered into eternal rest with his loving family at his bedside on Friday, Aug. 26, 2005, at the Donnell House, Washington. He was born Feb. 8, 1928, in Fayette City, a son of the late Michael and Catherine Blasko Sveda. He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Mike Sveda, and two sisters, Anna Arth and Mary Voyteck. Mr. Sveda was a member of Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church in Charleroi, the church choir, the GCU the Brightwell-Daughtery Post 484 American Legion, Fayette City. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Army. Mr. Sveda was a retired employee of the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Co., Allenport Plant. He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Sveda, by a devoted daughter and son-in-law, Monica and Robert Nalevanko of Fayette City, a loving granddaughter, Mallie Nalevanko, one brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Margaret Sweda of Fayette City, and their daughter and niece, Marlene Sweda of Arlington, Texas, a sister, Donna Sveda of Uniontown, two nephews, Richard Voyteck and wife Carol, and Robert Voyteck of Ohio, and other nieces and nephews by his extended family, Bob and Delphine Nalevanko of Belle Vernon (Arnold City), and his special pets, Pookie and Shelia . A prayer service was held Monday, Aug. 29, at 10:30 a.m. in the ELEY-McCRORY FUNERAL HOME INC., Fayette City, followed by Funeral Divine Liturgy at 11 a.m. in Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church with Fr.
