Obituary

Victoria J. Moran, 87, a lifetime resident of Belle Vernon and a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church, passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2005, in Mon Valley Hospital. She was born on December 8, 1917, to Sam and Mary Yowonske. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Frank Moran, a son, Frank Robert Moran, a sister, Ann Keyock, and six brothers, John, Frank, Sam, Alex, Steve and Walter Yowonske. She is survived by her son Thomas (Florence) Moran of Beaver Falls, a daughter-in- law, Agnes (late Frank) Moran of Ogden Dunes, Ind., five grandchildren, Tammy (Wayne) Slaminio of Darlington, Robert (Michele) Moran of St. Petersburg, Fla., Frank Jr. (Sarah) Moran of Ogden Dunes, Therese (Michael) Kinasiewicz of Portage, Ind., and Dr. Jacqueline (Kevin Burns) Moran of Naperville, Ill., seven great-grandchildren, Kylie and Dante Moran of St. Petersburg, Cassie Moran of Ogden Dunes, Michael and Julianne Kinasiewicz of Portage and Nicole and Rachel Burns of Naperville, a brother, Joe (Silvia) Yowonske of Belle Vernon, two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Yowonske of Pittsburgh and Betty Yowonske of Rostraver Township, and numerous nieces and nephews. Victoria will be most remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother who had a great love of the outdoors and as one who enjoyed traveling. She'd make regular weekend trips to the Northern Allegheny Mountains in her earlier years to assist the family during their hunting and fishing expeditions. Her other passions included gardening and sewing. She designed and made all her own clothing and sewed for others as well. Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC. and CREMATION SERVICE, a Golden Rule Member Firm, 724-929-5300, 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, where a blessing service will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Sebastian R.C. Church at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The rosary will be prayed in the funeral home Wednesday at 3 p.m. led by members of St. Sebastian Parish.
