Charles H. Armentrout; 89; of Salt Springs; Fla.; formerly of the Mon Valley; died Monday; May 16; 2005. He was born Jan. 7; 1916 in Mineral County; W.Va.; the son of the late Baxter and May Green Armentrout. He was an employee of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel; Allenport Plant; having started in 1934 as a craneman. Mr. Armentrout had held various positions and was an electrician in the No. 2 Hot Mill at his retirement in 1977. He is survived by his daughter; Gerry Tillman of Florida; his son; Charles Bucky Armentrout of Rostraver Township; five grandchildren; Edward Magruda; Kristina Boyd; Joelene Christman and Michael and John Armentrout; and five great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death was his wife; Vera Armentrout; who was a longtime teacher in the Charleroi School District. Friends will be received at the RHOME FUNERAL HOME INC.; 1209 Grand Blvd.; Monessen; a Golden Rule Funeral Home; from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. Services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday; May 24 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
