Obituary

Alfred Carini, 78, of Belle Vernon, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, in Havencrest Nursing Center, Carroll Township. A son of the late Dino and Alberta Sphar Greene Carini, he was born in Belle Vernon on Aug. 9, 1926. Protestant by faith, he was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and had lived most of his adult life in Belle Vernon. He retired from the New York Transit Authority, where he was a principal cashier, and he served for 20 years in the U.S. Army. Survivors include one brother, Deno Carini, one nephew, Dennis Carini and wife Carrie, and one great-niece and -nephew, Chelsea and Dennis J. Carini, all of Belle Vernon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Dolores Carini, in 2003, and one sister-in-law, Ethel Carini, in 2004. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC. and CREMATION SERVICE, (724-929-5300), a Golden Rule Member Firm, 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon. Funeral services will be in the funeral home on Friday, Nov. 12, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Eugene Spear, pastor of the Char-Belle Free Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
