Raymond H. Evans; 71; of Belle Vernon; died Friday; Oct. 15; 2004; in UPMC-Montefiore; Pittsburgh. Born in Belle Vernon on July 9; 1933; he was a son of the late Albert and Sylvia Hixson Evans. He was a retired railroad engineer for Monessen Southwestern Railroad; Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel. Mr. Evans served with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of Donora American Legion Post 212. He was Protestant by faith. Survivors include his wife; Mary Lou Ragan Evans; two sons; Raymond H. Evans II and fiancee Barbara and Robert Evans and wife Jennifer; all of Belle Vernon; one daughter; Brenda Dongilli and husband Kim of Rostraver Township; two brothers; Roy Evans and wife Amelia and Richard Evans; all of Belle Vernon; two sisters; Grace Bairly of York and Ruth McKnew and husband George of Maryland; and eight grandchildren; Private Kristen Evans; Dalton Evans; Jordan Ivill; Robert Evans Jr.; and Cagney; Shane; Bredan and Cody Dongilli; and a new grandchild on the way. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by one brother; Fred Evans; one nephew; Ronald Evans; and two sisters-in-law; Ann Evans and Emma Evans. Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. in the JAMES C. STUMP FUNERAL HOME INC.; 580 Circle Dr.; Sweeney Plan/Rostraver Township; where a funeral service will be held Tuesday; Oct. 19; at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Richard Klein officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
