Margaret L. Kowalczyk; 80; of Dalton; Ohio; formerly of Washington and Fayette counties; died Monday; Aug. 9; 2004 in Shady Lane Nursing Home; Dalton; Ohio. She was born Friday; Sept. 7; 1923 in Charleroi; the daughter of the late Donald M. and Minnie N. Noble Allen. Mrs. Kowalczyk was a former homemaker and farmer. She also worked as a welder during World War II at a glass factory. Mrs. Kowalczyk was a member of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Marshallville; Ohio. She is survived by two sons; Henry Kowalczyk and wife Ruth of Orrville; Ohio; and Robert Hull of Dalton; Ohio; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister; Flora Legg of Seville; Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband; 2nd Lt. Henry Kowalczyk; who was killed in action in France on Sept. 23; 1944; and her only brother; Cpl. Donald Noble; who was killed in action in Korea three days before his 23rd birthday on July 5; 1954. Private services were held for the family Wednesday; Aug. 11 in the chapel at Belle Vernon Cemetery; followed by interment.
